Spangled cats have Angora, Siamese, Manx and other non pedigreed cats as ancestors. The characteristic desired was that of a spotted cat with the body and color type of a wild cat but be able to adapt to indoor life. It is a long low slung tubular cat that is well muscled with strong legs. The head is medium sized with a slightly rounded forehead. The ears are medium and set high on the head. The eyes are medium large and almond shaped. The coat is short and velvety with spots covering the back and flanks. Markings should continue onto the legs in the form of bars. The tail should have at least one dark ring. The colors are silver, charcoal, bronze, gold, red, blue brown and black.
